 Job:  Assembly Technician
Location:  Highland, NY
Pay:  $17/hour with growth potential
Job Type:  Full Time, Temp to Perm (Union once Perm)
Schedule:  Monday - Thursday 1st shift:  6am-4:30pm or 2nd shift: 2pm - 12:30am

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Water Spider/Production Manager/Supervisor, the Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling components of fixtures efficiently while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.

Key responsibilities include performing assembly tasks according to standardized procedures, continuously seeking process improvements, ensuring quality control,collaborating with team members, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Employ lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
  • Utilizes manufacturing knowledge to improve process operations and affect positive change.
  • Perform assembly tasks following standardized work instructions and procedures while meeting production standard times to ensure continuous work flow.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines during assembly processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth assembly operations.
  • Communicate openly and proactively to address any challenges or issues that may arise during the assembly process.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.

Job Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to meet production standard times.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced continuous workflow production environment while maintaining quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.

Physical Demands:
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to use hands to handle objects
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Includes safety glasses and additional protection as required by law and safety policy.

Work Environment:
  • Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas. Will be exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
