Assistant Manager for a market hosting eclectic mix of artistic vendors. This position assists the manager with operations, administrative tasks, and staff/vendor relations. Core daily responsibilities include opening and closing, cash register, making corrections in the POS system, stocking supplies, keeping track of inventory and communication between owner, staff and vendors.Â
Operations Management/Team Leadership:
Assist the manager with weekly meetings, employee scheduling, and conflict resolution. Â
Help address customer issues and operational challenges.
Support the manager in ensuring market safety and compliance during walk-throughs.
Assist with updating team documents and communicating changes.
Help coordinate pop-up events by ensuring the manager provides all sales associates with protocol needed during such events (art pick-up, seating for musical events etc.)
Help with routine Window display transitions and alternating inventory in the windows.
Stock inventory closet
Administrative and Financial Tasks:
Assist with recording vendor rent payments and settlement check pickups.
Ensure the filling cabinet is organized and maintained.
Assist with counting weekly cash.
Assist with counting total dollar amount of rent checks prior to manager depositing them at the bank.
Help with customer invoices for shipping when necessary.
Being the back up for communication between owner/staff/vendor about closing in case of an emergency
Vendor Support:
Keep track of any vendor concerns or complaints to refer to manager during weekly meeting.
Assist the manager with the yearly lease renewal process.
Collecting and recording insurance, security deposits, and rent payments.
Coordinating load-in and load-out dates.
Make sure the POS system is updated when onboarding vendors, update physical vendor sheets in binder.
After a booth has been vacated, appropriately paint areas that have been patched
