Under supervision of Licensed Occupational Therapist:
Provide direct therapy to students.
Participates in instructional lunch program
Consult to/communicate with staff regarding students' OT programs on weekly basis.
Prepare and maintain weekly log notes.
Assist in the formal/informal annual assessments of designated students on caseload, if necessary.
Collaborate with OTR on writing quarterly updates of goals and objectives and annual review reports.
Collaborate with OTR on writing annual progress reports.
Collaborate with OTR on writing annual IEP goals and objectives.
Assist in the formulation of sensory diets and strategies and in-service staff as necessary.
Communicate regularly with caregivers through homebooks, phone conversations, and parent visits.
Prepare, participate and present at parent conferences.
Meet at regular intervals with clinical supervisor.
Attend required meetings.
Communicate with caregivers through homebooks, phone conversations, and parent visits as needed basis.
Utilize appropriate behavioral management techniques and follow students’ behavior plans.
Demonstrates familiarity with and adheres to State and Federal regulations and policies (i.e. SED, Medicaid, Office of Children and Families).
Adhere to policies in the Staff Handbook and Human Resources Manual and other handbooks pertinent to the functioning of your job.
Maintain a safe working environment. Comply and assist with COVID19 policies and procedures including cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting surfaces and equipment
Complete designated follow-ups.
Conduct oneself according to the professional requirements of New York State certification board for OTA's.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Complete any additional required paperwork.
Participate in the evaluation of need for referral to outside agencies with other team members.
Participate in the clinical supervision of college interns.
Meet with support staff as needed.
Attend and contribute to inservice workshops.
Contribute to the productive functioning of the school.
Assist in the ordering of therapeutic materials and supplies
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy and New York State Certification for Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Demonstrates good general intelligence. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with students, co-workers, families, and community.
