NYS Certified Science Teacher
Full-Time | Kingston, NY
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $62,500 – $63,000 Annually
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:10 AM – 3:10 PM
Position Summary
The NYS Certified Science Teacher is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective instructional programs within the classroom and school setting. This role includes ongoing assessment of student abilities, development of IEP goals, and implementation of targeted instructional interventions. The position also provides leadership and direct support to teaching assistants and collaborates with clinicians, guidance counselors, and other professionals to ensure a holistic, trauma-informed educational approach for each student.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based Science instruction
Develop and implement IEP goals aligned with student needs
Assess student progress and modify instruction accordingly
Maintain accurate academic documentation and reporting
Provide leadership and daily support to teaching assistants
Encourage positive student behavior and classroom engagement
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including clinicians and counselors
Foster a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Current New York State Certification in Education
Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
New York State Certification in Special Education
