Job:  Commercial & Personal Lines Account Manager
Salary:  $50,000 - $70,000 BOE Plus Bonuses & Commissions
Location:  Kingston, NY
Job Type:  Full Time, Permanent
Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
 


JOB SUMMARY

Provide prompt, professional, courteous and efficient service to clients who need assistance. Be instrumental in binding new accounts and assist with the retention of existing clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Complete applications, questionnaires, request loss runs and issue binders, identification cards, certificates of insurance and requests for proof of property insurance.
  • Answer telephone in a professional manner while taking client inquiries and research and answer questions based on their insurance needs.
  • Represent yourself and the agency in a professional manner while waiting on clients in person and taking their inquiries.
  • To be familiar with the markets available through the agency’s carriers.
  • Communicate with supervisor any issues to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Prior to policies renewing, review exposures, gather information the carrier has requested and deliver renewal policies or binders on a timely basis. Also review renewals to determine if better coverage and/or pricing can be obtained with another carrier.
  • Work closely with Producers on writing, maintaining & servicing accounts. 
  • Process transactions carefully paying attention to detail on a timely basis to minimize the potential for an errors and omissions exposure always THINKING about how a transaction may affect an additional item or portion of the account.
  • Take loss reports and provide assistance on outstanding claims to assist in resolving them as needed.
  • Review existing client files to offer and quote additional coverages/exposures in an attempt to round out the accounts.
  • Get along with all co-workers at all times.
  • Assist with answering phones.
  • Document in the computer all conversations with clients and/or carriers pertaining to coverages and exposures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE

Have at least five years or more working in an insurance agency or similar experience.


OTHER FACTORS INCLUDING THOSE THAT MAY BE PART OF A SYSTEMATIC JOB EVALUATION, PERFORMANCE AND COMPENSATION PROGRAM

Needs to be a team player who is a self starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Be willing to learn various carriers underwriting guidelines and documents required to place a risk. Must possess excellent computer skills, be organized and detail oriented. Possess a high school diploma or higher and a valid license for the lines of insurance being sold & serviced.

Dress is business casual. No blue jeans, blue jean skirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, flip flops (dressy type would be considered), sneakers, etc.
