Job:  Food Pantry Supervisor
Pay:  $20-$25/hour BOE
Location:  Kingston, NY
Job Type:  Temp to Perm
Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:30am-2pm *7am start time on Tuesdays


Job Summary

As Food Pantry Supervisor you should have a display of confidence, possess a positive attitude, resolve problems in a quick but kind manner, and have a passion for the organization and our mission. The supervisor will be responsible for the overall supervision and efficient operation of the Food Pantry. While working together as a key team player with all staff members, you will be supporting management for maximum productivity. You will be a team builder while helping teach, train and praise volunteers. This is a hands-on job and the ability to do physical labor is a must. You will set performance standards, resolve issues and serve as a link to upper management.

As Food Programming Supervisor, you serve as a professional public face for our organization and must maintain open communication and report to the Executive Director.

Job Hours
7:30 am – 2 pm* Monday – Friday. We are closed on all Legal Holidays and Kingston City School Snow Days. *Tuesdays hours are 7am – 2pm.

Responsibilities

Oversight of the following food programs:
  • Farm Hub
  • Food Deliveries
  • Food Pantry
  • Holiday Meal Programs
  • Bag Summer Hunger
  • Bounty Table
  • Victory Over Hunger donation
  • General Food Donations
  • Liaison for volunteers and recipients to Executive Director
  • Knowledge of food computer program
  • Work with the Executive Director to monitor and organize Food Bank monthly  deliveries
  • Monitor, inventory and organize on-premise stock levels
  • Supervise volunteers in Food Panty & Farm Stand
  • Always maintain communication with registration desk and waiting area.
  • Implement program changes as they occur
  • Train new food pantry volunteers and provide continuous training to existing volunteers
  • Work in conjunction with staff & volunteers to develop scheduling of Food Pantry
Requirements
  • Able to lift 50 pounds numerous times per day
  • Ability to navigate steps carrying 20 – 35 pounds.

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Food School Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
