Job: Machine Shop Operator Location: Highland, NY Pay: $18/hour Job Type: Full Time, Temp to Perm (Union once Perm) Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of production equipment including sheet metal punching and forming machines, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending and sanding equipment.
Operate saws, milling machines and other machinery to cut and prepare metal parts according to specifications.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
Prefer machine shop experience and familiarity with manufacturing and power tools.
Automotive, construction and other manufacturing relevant experience welcome.
Metal fabrication a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
Required to use hands to handle objects
Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
Work Environment:
Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas. Will be exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
PPE: Includes safety glasses and additional protection as required by law and safety policy.
