Job Description
Position: Maintenance Technician 4 - Carpenter Location: Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm Pay range:  $24.94 - $31.86 (based on experience) Job Type: Temp to Perm Schedule: Staatsburg, NY
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent with sufficient knowledge and experience to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of the position.
- 5 years’ experience as a Carpenter, hands on experience working with carpentry materials, excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, and methods of installation and construction.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
Position Summary:
- Leads work groups as established for temporary and permanent projects. Performs all assignments with professionalism expected from all department employees. Reads blueprints drawings sketches to fully grasp requirements, take measurements, calculate the size and number of materials needed, construct window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings using raw materials or pre constructed items, layout various construction areas to ensure they are leveled and compatible remove and install kitchen and bathroom cabinetry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve carpentry/maintenance problems that arise.
- Performs Carpentry Tasks as Scheduled and Assigned
- Prompt corrective measures for all identified hazards.
- Conducts routine and preventive maintenance on building structures
- Ensure that all systems integrated with carpentry work, such as door frames, window frames, and wall partitions, are maintained
- Ensures that carpentry work does not interfere with the functioning of other building systems. This involves collaborating with specialists in other trades.
- Works to prevent potential system failures. Proactively identifies and addresses potential vulnerabilities in building structures that could lead to system failures
- Adherence to the following Department standards.
- Participate in mandatory rotating maintenance on-call and snow removal.
