REGISTERED PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Location: Ellenville NY
Salary: 56000.00-71000.00
Type: Perm


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide ongoing supervision and training to department staff (PTA's).
  • Provide direct therapy to students.
  • Provide direct and indirect classroom consultations as indicated and communicate findings to staff.
  • Participates in instructional lunch program
  • Prepare and maintain weekly log notes.
  • Perform formal/informal annual assessments of designated students on caseload.
  • Write quarterly updates of goals and objectives and annual review reports.
  • Write annual progress notes.
  • Write annual IEP goals and objectives.
  • Prepare, participate, and present at annual review meetings and parent conferences.
  • Attend/conduct required meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers through homebooks, phone conversations, and parent visits.
  • Handle correspondence with outside agencies concerning department issues.
  • Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques and follow students’ behavior plans.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with and adheres to State and Federal regulations and policies (i.e. SED, Medicaid, Office of Children and Families).
  • Adhere to policies in the Staff Handbook and Human Resources Manual and other handbooks pertinent to the functioning of your job.
  • Maintain a safe working environment. Comply and assist with COVID19 policies and procedures including cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting surfaces and equipment
  • Complete designated follow-ups.
  • Conduct oneself according to the professional requirements of New York State licensure board for P.T.'s.
  • Perform gait analysis and gait training.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Complete any additional required paperwork.
  • Participate in the evaluation of need for referral to outside agencies with other team members.
  • Oversee clinical internship program and function as clinical supervisor for PT/PTA interns.
  • Meet with support staff as needed.
  • Attend and contribute to inservice workshops.
  • Oversee orthotics clinic that occurs on as needed basis.
  • Contribute to the productive functioning of the school.
  • Order therapeutic materials and supplies.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors or Science or Arts in Physical Therapy and New York State Licensed Physical Therapist.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrates good general intelligence.  Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with students, co-workers, families, and community. Maintains a neat physical appearance.  Communicates effectively.  Functions as a positive role model.
