JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The Market Manager oversees the overall operations of a media cluster, focusing on driving growth, managing teams, and ensuring the success of sales, programming, and marketing efforts. This leadership role is responsible for meeting performance goals and aligning the organization with its strategic objectives.
DUTIES:
Develop and maintains relationships with purchasing clients
Drive sales, deliver growth, exceed goals, monetize local assets to deliver exceptional client results
Actively explore all opportunities to grow local, national, non-traditional, and interactive revenue
Managing the Program Directors
Responsible to maintain and grow Nielsen ratings for all stations in the cluster
Managing all Marketing on and off air
Managing all NTR, i.e. event and non-air sales
Total P&L responsibility including managing expenses
Establish budget and plan for station to attain goals
Attend / participate in trade shows and community organization events
Explore various avenues to expand client base and acquire new clients
Attend weekly sales meeting with department heads
Other duties may be assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, recruit, and develop high-performance sales talent to ensure continued top-line growth
Conduct periodic meetings with sales staff
Must adapt easily within a changing environment, demonstrate commitment to organizational transformation and organizational vision
Handles personnel functions, to include interviewing, hiring, measuring, and evaluating performance, recognizing accomplishments, and termination
Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed
Responsible for ensuring the staff is given an opportunity to make a livelihood through training, feedback, and effective direction and management
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing or a related field
Three to five years previous sales experience
One to three years of supervisory experience
Must be detail oriented
Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
Must have a reliable form of transportation
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast paced environment
May involve evenings, weekends, or holidays
Majority of shift is spent mobile in a vehicle
Involves large amount of traveling for client visits
