Job Title:Â Speech-Language Pathologist / Therapist
Location:Â Kingston, NY, Ellenville NY
Salary:Â $37.57 - 56.29 / hour BOE
Job Type:Â Full Time, Direct Hire
Schedule:Â Monday - Friday 8am-3pm
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTÂ
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direct therapy and evaluate students' communicative status according to NYSED, ASHA and Medicaid best practices and guidelines.
- Communicate with classroom staff regarding students' communication programs.
- Maintain quantitative/qualitative data according to IEP schedule and complete daily treatment logs.
- Write quarterly updates of goals and benchmarks, to include quantitative and quantitative data.
- Provide direct and/or indirect consultation re: instructional lunch programs and feeding/swallowing issues.
- Write annual progress reports.
- Perform formal/informal assessments annually on students on caseload.
- Write annual IEP goals and benchmarks.
- Design and implement augmentative systems/strategies and train others in the use of the systems.
- Â Participate in parent conferences.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Communicate regularly with caregiver through homebooks, emails, or phone conversations and parent visits.
- Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques and follow students’ behavior plans.
- Demonstrates familiarity with and adheres to State and Federal regulations and policies (i.e. SED, Medicaid, Office of Children and Families).
- Adhere to policies in the Staff Handbook and Human Resources Manual and other handbooks pertinent to the functioning of your job.
- Maintain a safe working environment. Comply and assist with COVID19 policies and procedures including cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting surfaces and equipment
- Complete designated team meeting follow-ups.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Complete any additional required paperwork.
- Participate in the evaluation of need for referral to outside agencies with other team members.
- Accompany students for outside evaluations that occur during the school year when indicated.
- Participate in preschool and school aged transdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations and screenings.
- Meet with support staff as needed.
- Attend and contribute to inservice workshops.
- Consult with school nurse re: hearing/vision status
- Contribute to the productive functioning of the school.
- Order educational materials and supplies.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Speech-Language Pathologist:
NYS Speech-Language Teaching Certificate and/or NYS License in Speech-Language Pathology.
